Beginner

It's never too late to learn to swim, overcome fears and work on basic safety and water skills.

Intermediate

Prerequisite: ability to swim 200 yards. A class for adults who are comfortable in the water and who would like to work on stroke development and endurance. It is perfect for those who would like to improve their techniques.

Master Swim Program

Designed to give you more of a challenge with your swimming workout. Come and enjoy a structured workout for the intermediate to advanced swimmer with an experienced coach. Also offers instruction on stroke improvements.

Masters/Triathlon Swim Program

This program is designed for intermediate level swimmers who wish to improve their swimming skills & prepare for an open water swim. The class emphasizes the freestyle swim stroke.

Personal Assessment & Training Program

Participants receive a fitness assessment in the water and then placed on a fitness program which meets their own goals, needs and schedule. Call Glenda VanStratton at 345-9622 x127.

Private Lessons

Do you, a family member or friend want to learn how to swim on a one-to-one basis? For youth and adults. Members $13 per 1/2 hour session. Non-members $20 per 1/2 hour session. 3/4 hour session available.

Fit for Two

Specially designed program for the mother-to-be. Exercise and enjoy the weightless feeling in the pool. A doctor's permission slip is required.

Hydrofit

High intensity.
This class will challenge your core body strength, improve balance, flexibility, muscular strength, and endurance. The class includes the usage of Hydrofit equipment.
All participants must be comfortable in all depths of the pool and it is highly recommended to take one-45 minute water fitness orientation before taking your first class if you have not taken any previous water fitness classes.

Hydrofit-Deep

A high intensity water class, in the deep end of the pool, to challenge your core body strength, improve balance, flexibility, muscular strength and endurance. The class includes the usage of Hydrofit equipment.

It is highly recommended to take one-45 minute water fitness orienation before taking your first class if you have not taken any previous water fitness classes.

Sculpt & Splash

This class includes weight/resistance training on land combines with cardio/athletic conditioning in the water. Meets at the pool (30 min on land, 45 min in water).

Water-Polo Training & Conditioning New!

Prerequisite: comfortable swimming and treading in deep water
For the beginner to master level water polo player. Improve your conditioning and knowledge base of the sport from rules and plays, to ball handling and drills. Great if you're training during the off-season or just want to add a challenge to your workout.

YMCA Water Fitness For Health

Moderate Intensity.
Lively aerobic exercise to improve your cardiovascular system, improve strength and flexibility while avoiding wear and tear on your body. No swimming ability required.

Babysitting Training Course

Participants will learn leadership skills, safety and first aid, basic care skills, playing safe and interviewing skills. This course is an American Red Cross course, and certificates will be given for those who meet all the requirements of the class. Please bring a sack lunch/snack. 9a-5p

CPR for the Healthcare Provider

This program includes one and two person CPR. Bag, valve and mask; AED and choking are also taught in this class. For lifeguards, medical professionals, instructors, etc. Classes are taught at the Maple Branch. Dates: 6/23, 7/28, 8/25

HeartSaver CPR/AED

Adult/Child, Infant CPR and choking are included in this class for the lay person. Meets requirements for Michigan Day Care licensing. Classes are taught at the Maple Branch.

HeartSaver First Aid

Basic first aid for Adults including environmental emergencies. Class teaches managing illness and injuries in the first few minutes prior to the arrival of professional help. Classes are taught at the Maple Branch. Dates: 6/9, 7/14, 8/11

Lifeguarding

All participants must meet the minimum age required* as of the first day of class and swim 500 yards. The course includes CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED and First Aid certifications.
