School Age Child Care (SACC) is an exciting and challenging place, provided in a safe environment in which your children can learn practical and social skills, while having fun. Our programs are inclusive and offer a combination of free-choice and structured age appropriate activities. Our expanded curriculum includes help with homework, math and reading tutoring, drumming, arts/science, Cooking Matters Program, character development and conflict resolution. All of the programs promote the Y’s four core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility and we incorporate he CHAMPS program in all of our sites. CHAMPS stands for: C-caring H-honesty A-always respectful M-making responsible choices P-positive attitude S-safety first. Our programs are run by early childhood educators and are licensed by the state of Michigan.
We provide before and after school programming at: King-Westwood Elementary, Parkwood Upjohn Elementary, Winchell Elementary, El Sol Elementary, Milwood Elementary and Prairie Ridge Elementary in Kalamazoo. Several other KPS elementary schools pick up and drop off students to our programs. See below.
Care is available Monday through Friday from 6:30a-6p, depending on the site. Children are released to begin their school day when the school bell rings. The after school program begins when school lets out.
