The Y is hosting several events these next days as part of a September WELCOMING WEEK at both Maple and Portage. We hope you will be compelled to participate and share the information with friends and family. All are welcomed.

MOVIE NIGHT: Queen of Katwe
Sat., Sept. 15, 7pm-9pm
At Maple

Join us for a family event featuring the film QUEEN OF KATWE: A Ugandan girl sees her life rapidly change after being introduced to the game of chess. The movie is rated PG. It's a free event, open to all. Bring a folding chair or sleeping bag. Light refreshments will be available.

LATINX Breakfast and Tour
Tues., Sept. 18, 9am-11am
At Maple

We invite members of the Hispanic community to learn about the YMCA experience. Bi-lingual tour guides will be available.

Sat., Sept. 22, 7:30pm - 10pm
At Maple

Originally developed to provide a safe barrier-free opportunity for local female Muslim refugees to participate in the YMCA, the event offered a "women only" after-hours chance to enjoy swimming, working out and most importantly - and a chance to meet for fellowship.

Now a signature event, it is offered quarterly.

This event is for women only. PLEASE, no males, even little ones. It is free and it is lots of fun! Recommended age is 12 and up. Youth need to be in the presence of a responsible adult at all times.

Refreshments will be available.
Transportation will not be available.
For more information, please email aheidtman@kzooymca.org or call 269.345.9622 x190.

At Maple and Portage

Mon., Sept. 24, 9am-Noon and 4pm-7pm
Tues., Sept. 25, 9am-7pm
Y staff and League of Women Voters of Kalamazoo Area volunteers will be onsite at both Maple and Portage to register folks to vote or update contact information. This event is open to the community.

Tues., Sept. 25, 9:30am-11:30am
At Portage

Please bring your photo ID, insurance cards, cash or check payable to Borgess. Payment is required at the time of service. Borgess accepts all Medicare Part B plans and most commercial insurances*. They are unable to accept credit cards. *While most Borgess facilities accept Medicaid, current regulations do not allow coverage for mass immunization clinics. Therefore, for our community-based flu clinics, we cannot accept patients with Medicaid, Healthy Michigan Plan, Cofinity NGS-Bronson Employees or any Medicaid HMO plans (e.g., Meridian, McLaren Health Plan, United Healthcare Community Plan, Priority Health and Coventry Cares). Patients with Medicaid or Medicaid HMO coverage should call their primary care physician and schedule an appointment to have their flu immunization.
