The Y's School-Age Child Care Program is open to Kalamazoo Public School students in grades K-5.
Registration for the 2019-2020 school year will open on Monday, July 15
Y Prime Time is before and after school care for students grades K-5, serving KPS families at five KPS elementary schools. Y Prime Time engages kids in physically active, learning, and imaginative activities that encourage exploration of who they are and what they can achieve. All of our programs are inclusive and offer a combination of free-choice and structured age-appropriate activities.
Our program includes the SPARK and CATCH curriculum, which are aimed at engaging children in intentional physical activity as well as nutrition education. We also offer healthy afternoon snacks, academic support, arts and crafts, and more! We promote the Y's four core values; caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility; and incorporate the CHAMPS program at all of our sites.
CHAMPS stands for:
- A-always respectful
- M-making responsible choices
- P-positive attitude
- S-safety first
All of our programs are licensed by the State of Michigan and are run by qualified youth development staff.
