On May 17, Representatives Moore (R-UT), Steele (R-CA), Blakemore (R-UT), Davis (D-IL) and Pappas (D-NH) introduced the Charitable Act in the U.S. House.

This bipartisan bill would restore and expand the Universal Deduction for non-itemizers that was in place to encourage giving during the pandemic. The Charitable Act extends the policy and expands the giving incentive from $300 for single and $600 for joint filers to $4,500 and $9,200, respectively.

This bill already has bipartisan support in the U.S. Senate. Take action today and ask your U.S. Representative to support YMCAs and other nonprofits by cosponsoring the Charitable Act to support charitable giving!

The Charitable Act will help nonprofits like the Y by incentivizing more taxpayers to give to charity! We know that donors give from the heart, but IRS data proves that when they give and how much they give is tied to tax incentives.

Take action today: Ask your U.S. Rep to support charitable giving by cosponsoring the Charitable Act!
