Kalamazoo, MI - The YMCA of Greater Kalamazoo is proud to announce the appointment of Jim Migliaccio as Interim President and CEO. With over 35 years of distinguished service in the YMCA movement, Jim brings a wealth of experience and leadership. This marks the second time Jim has served in an interim capacity with the organization.
He succeeds Dave Morgan, who is departing after seven impactful years to become the next President and CEO of the YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee.
Under the leadership of Board Chair Scott Nykaza, the YMCA of Greater Kalamazoo remains steadfast in its strategic vision: to ensure every member of the community has access to YMCA programs and services. A key component of this vision is the "One in One by 2031" initiative-aimed at ensuring that every resident lives within one mile of a YMCA facility or program.
This two-pronged approach addresses the most common barriers to participation: proximity and cost. By bringing programs closer to where people live and providing over $800,000 in financial assistance annually, the Y is working to make healthy living, youth development, and social responsibility accessible to all.
Over the next four months, the Board will evaluate several options for long-term leadership, including deeper exploration of a potential partnerships with the other local YMCAs. An exploratory group, with guidance from YMCA of the USA, will convene to assess how organizations might work together more effectively to serve the community.
With strong values, comprehensive programming, and visionary leadership, our YMCA is committed to exploring the best path forward to maximize community impact.
