KALAMAZOO, MI – The YMCA of Greater Kalamazoo announces that President and CEO Dave Morgan will be stepping down from his role to become the next Chief Executive Officer of the YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee. Morgan, who has served the Kalamazoo community with distinction since 2018, will be returning to his home state of Wisconsin. The move brings him closer to family, including his daughter and son-in-law who currently reside in Milwaukee. His last day with the YMCA of Greater Kalamazoo is expected to be June 27, 2025.
During his tenure in Kalamazoo, Morgan led the organization through key moments of growth and transformation. Under his leadership, the YMCA expanded its impact through deepened partnerships with Kalamazoo and Portage Public Schools, extended its reach through innovative youth development and wellness programs, and laid the groundwork for a bold vision for the future of the Portage branch through a comprehensive capital campaign. Morgan also played a pivotal role in strengthening the Y’s commitment to safety, equity, and inclusion, as well as implementing structural improvements and launching new initiatives that will benefit the community for years to come.
"While it is difficult to say goodbye to a community and team I care deeply about, I’m honored and excited to return to Wisconsin and serve the YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee," Morgan said. "The opportunity to be closer to family while continuing to serve the mission of the Y is a true blessing."
The YMCA of Greater Kalamazoo Board of Directors will begin the process of identifying Morgan’s successor in the coming weeks. In the meantime, the leadership team remains focused on advancing the organization’s mission and maintaining the strong momentum established under Morgan’s guidance.
Morgan's last day at the YMCA of Greater Kalamazoo will be Friday, June 27, 2025.
