LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA:
Cancer Survivorship Program
LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is a 12-week health and wellness program designed for adult cancer survivors who have recently become deconditioned or chronically fatigued from their treatment and the disease itself. The class meets twice per week and a physician's clearance is required.
The goal of the small group series is to help participants build muscle mass and strength, increase flexibility and endurance, and improve functional ability.
The program is designed to strengthen and support survivors on the road to recovery after their treatment regimens.
Contact Active for Life Director, Shashu Baraka via email or phone at (269) 459-4856 for more information.
Livestrong participants and their family members and/or care providers get to enjoy a FREE YMCA membership.
The following forms are required to participate and should be returned within two weeks prior to the start date. Have your doctor fill out the medical clearance and return all completed forms to Shashu Baraka.

Here is what some of our past participants have said about the program:
"Uplifting experience - literally! I have thoroughly enjoyed meeting everyone and growing in mind, body, and spirit. This is a super program and brings life back into focus for cancer survivors. Good work is being done here. Thanks to all for the encouragement. Bless you, all."
"Thank you! Thank you! I enjoyed this program, and what it brings to all of us cancer survivors and those still in treatment. What a fun group to be a part of. I am stronger by far because of this program. Thank you, Cancer Center and the Y, for providing this well-adjusted program. I'd recommend it for all those going through challenges."
"What an amazing program, amazing people! Such support and caring every day. I'm sad to see it end. I feel so much more empowered and positive thanks to this program. What a group of trainers extraordinaire!"
